Importing from Excel
The template, the review screen, what happens to old loans.
1. Download the template
In Settings → Import from Excel, download the template: one sheet per month (or a single CSV file), with the columns Name, Phone, Amount Taken, Interest Percentage, Loan Period, Amount Returned, Date Taken and Due Date.
2. Copy your loans in
One row per loan, in the month it was taken. "1 month", "2 weeks", "45 days" all work; so do 25 or 25% for the rate. Leave Interest Percentage empty to use your rate table.
3. Upload and check
The app reads the file, links the rows to customers (it spots "Donovan" and "Donnovan"), and shows every row with what it had to guess. Accept, edit or skip each one, then press Import.
- Imported loans keep their amounts from the file; late interest is off for them until you switch it on.
- Importing the same file twice doesn't make copies.
- Imported loans don't change your Money in hand: enter your starting balance afterwards.
